Skincare Resolutions For The New Year
Skincare resolutions for the new year
Christmas is over and even though we are all still a little full from all the good food we’ve had, it’s time to gear up for New Year’s Eve! It’s easy to keep your mind occupied with plans and party favors and champagne, and more food, but New Year’s always means one thing: resolutions. Okay, so we all hate New Year’s resolutions, but we all make them. This year let’s try a few good ones that we can stick to.
When it comes to your skin, resolve to take care of it. Most of us have at least one terrible skin care habit, and hopefully 2021 is the year that we kick some bad habits!
Stay hydrated
Water is a great thing, and your skin needs a lot of it. Drink as much as you need throughout the day and get yourself hydrated.
Exercise
We aren’t saying this as the typical resolution to lose weight. Regular cardiovascular exercise is absolutely crucial to keep blood circulating to all of the skin on your body.
Eat right
Like exercise, many people already have this one planned, but this also helps your skin. A poor diet can cause breakouts and sullen-looking skin, whereas a good diet can provide your body with all the nutrients you need for great skin.
Sleep!
This is a very valid resolution for your skin. Not only can sleep help you keep those dark circles under your eyes at bay, but it also reduces stress, which is one of the primary causes of acne!
Wash your face before bed
This is a no-brainer but it’s also sometimes hard to do. You may be up too late or have had a bit to drink. Regardless of the situation, make a resolution to make it to the sink every night and wash your face and moisturize before bedtime. A well-hydrated, clean face before you go to bed will give your skin a chance to renew.
Clean out the makeup bag
Dump open that makeup bag. Empty out that medicine cabinet. How many old skincare products to you have? Just throw them out. If you’re going to turn over a new leaf when it comes to skin care, this is the best place to start.
Don’t pick at your skin
Not only does picking at blemishes make them last longer, but it can cause scarring and increased breakouts. We know this is a very hard resolution to keep but try really hard!
Bonus: Wear sunscreen!
Ask anyone in the industry for their #1 beauty or anti-aging tip, and you will always get the same answer. Protect your skin from the sun and you’ll keep your skin looking young and feeling healthy!
